A highly decorative and strongly engraved map of China that includes the islands of Hainan and Formosa (Taiwan), the Korean peninsula and western Japan. The cartography is derived from the earlier Blaeu model. A superb, large title cartouche features Jesuit figures, Asia, Mercury, Neptune, and items representing the wealth and riches of the region. A second cartouche has two distance scales.
