Double page engraved map with original color.63x 52 cms.cartouche,scales,The map covers the American southwest and main islands like Cuba, Sto Domingo etc.The map shows the routes of the spanish silver fleets that departed from Cartagena de Indias and Veracruz and meet at Havana to set sail to Seville with all the silver and goods from West Indies and Philipinnes. The map comes from the atlases published by the Ottens brothers between 1720-50. They arrived to publish composite atlases with up to 800 maps in 15 volumes and many single atlases with maps from other cartographers but with the attractive colour that the Ottens applied to their atlases with sof yellow,pink and green. A nice copy with minor staining at central fold. A very attractive copy of this scarce map
