Description: The Atlas Minor was a reduced version of Mercator's great atlas. First published by Jodocus Hondius in 1607, it saw may editions by Hendrik Hondius, Johannes Janssonius and Johannes Cloppenburg. This decorative frontispice presents allegorical female figures representing the continents, and geographers measuring a globe that is held on the shoulder of Atlas.
Dimensions: 150 x 200 mm
Colouring: coloured
Condition: right upper corner slightly stained, doubled.
