Benedetto Bordone (1460-1531), cartographer and engraver. Published in 1528 his islands book, 'Isolario'. Two maps on one page of the Isalario. 'Iava minore', the first printed separate map of Sumatra and several islands 'Necumera / Locaz / Patera / Botegon / Mangama. Locaz or Lochac could be Thailand rendered as an island. Ref.:Suarez, fig 64 and 66, p.119/120.
Dimensions: 8 x 14.5 cm (2x), uncoloured, woodcut, excellent condition.
