Folding engraved view.Black and white.69x 32(including margins.The plate comes from the famous book "Voyage pittoresque de l´Istrie et la Dalmatie. This book is illustrated with 66 plates based on the drawings taken by Cassas during his stay at Split (ancient Spalato) in 1782. Cassas accompanied the count of Choiseul-Gouffier during his travels to the Othoman Empire and in his stay as french ambassador to the turkish court.
The palace was built by the roman emperor Diocletian in turn of the IV century A.C. rediscovered in the XVIII century by the english architect Robert Adams,it took an important role like inspiration for all the buildings that Adams built along Britain.
