€ 750
Large chromolithographed map of the Sinai desert and northeast Egypt, with the supposed route of Moses and the Israelites from Egypt to Canaan highlighted in red. An inset map at the lower right depicts "the migration of Terah and Abraham".
Added in manuscript in red ink is the route of the expedition by the American explorer John Lloyd Stephens (1805-1852), with the manuscript note "Map accompanying Mr. Stephens' report", probably referring to Stephens' Incidents of travel in Egypt, Arabia Petraea, and the Holy Land, published in 1837.
Only slightly browned, with some manuscript addition in red ink, as mentioned above, and a large letter D. added with blue pencil next to the map's title. Overall in very good condition.
