Contemporary calf, gold-tooled spine. € 7,500 Illustrated accounts of three grand public religious festivals in the Southern Netherlands. Ad 1 is a beautiful series of engravings celebrating the 1000-year jubilee of Saint Rumoldus. Ad 2 records a festival on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the Blessed Sacrament, organized by the Jesuit College in Brussels. And ad 3, finally, describes the 700-year Jubilee of Saint Macarius, who aided those suffering from the plague, celebrated in Ghent. Ad 1: tear in plate between pp. 20-21; some plates slightly frayed and browned; ad 2: original leaves cut out and mounted on larger paper; ad 3: browning throughout. Top of spine slightly damaged.
