Lugduni Batavorum Ex Officina Iusti a Colster Ann. 1615. Rare anatomical textbook by Pieter Pauw (1564-1617). Pauw studied at Leiden, Paris, and Rostock, and was a pupil of Fabricius at Padua. He was professor of anatomy and botany at Leiden and founded the first anatomical theater there in 1597. A follower of Vesalius, he edited an edition of the Epitome in 1616 (see No. 294) and made a number of important contributions to craniology and osteology. Perhaps the first osteological work to be published in the Netherlands. The engraved title vignette is after Holbein. Four engraved plates (1 repeated) and 25 engraved text illustrations. Title page partly restored tear and with library stamps. Folding plates and a few pages stamped. Tjroughout mild browning. Modern calf binding.
