Description: Unique vellum (lambskin) diploma of the Iron Crown Order, II. Class, signed by Franz Joseph I of Austria (Austrian-Hungarian Empire ) given in 1871 to Josephus Laminet, (Ritter?) from Artztheim, including the fastened brass box containing the imperial wax seal. Besides of the signature of Franz Joseph I ( right hand) there is a signature of Carolus L.B. Mescury (left hand)

The folded document, bearing the signature of Franz Joseph I, has gilt lettering, edges and coat of arms and is in very good condition; (only a bit dingy near the upper edge).

The Imperial Seal is made of deep red wax (completely intact) and is encased in a heavy, brass box with the Imperial Coat of Arms in high relief on cover.

The brass box is tightly fastened to the document with a blue/yellow rope. The wax seal is in very good condition (complete); there is only a crack near the edge(not affecting the seal it selves. (see picture).

The box and rope are in fine condition. Section of the brass box is 4,5 inch (thickness 1,2 inch). The wax seal is the same size. It is unique that this document is still complete with the (very heavy) brass box, including the wax seal tightly fastened to the vellum document!

The document is stored in a dark blue folder. The size of the folder is 11,2 x 9 ¼ inch. Thickness is 1 1/4 inch The condition of the folder is very good. There is a crack in the cover but that is only inside visible (+ some traces of use) The outside shows only a minor trace of use.
