The wounded Scipio being supported by his soldiers; Scipio, a Roman soldier in armour, is in the centre of the frieze-like design and has collapsed. After a drawing by Goltzius made during his stay in Rome in 1592, copied from a frieze by Polidoro da Caravaggio.

Lettered in lower right corner "J. Sanredam. A.o 1593". Lettered in the margin in two lines "Per Polidorum ... HGoltzium euulgatum". CJ.Visscher excudit.
