Description: Tenth engraving from the suite of 12 entitled 'Premi�re Suite des Mois de l'Ann�e' with an allegory of the month of October. Wreaths with grapes and wine decorate the frame; the medaillon at the top center contains the zodiacal sign of the Scorpio. In the central composition men are pressing the grapes to make the wine which is collected in barrels on the right. On the background on the hills men are harvesting grapes. At the bottom on a cartouche: 'Bubus arat terras vel equis, spargitq. vicissim / Triticeas October opes, pia dona columbis / Cum pri Regis'. Nr. �31� on the bottom right.
Colouring: EURO 605 INCL. VAT
Condition: Prenten, Oude meester prenten, Allegorieen
Technique: Engraving on paper, trimmed within platemark; total: 177 x 240 mm. State I/2 before plate numbering.
