Description: Seventh engraving from the suite of 12 entitled 'Premi�re Suite des Mois de l'Ann�e' with an allegory of the month of July. Wreaths with elements recalling harvest decorate the frame; the medaillon at the top center contains the zodiacal sign of the Lion. Three characters are performing the crop harvest to the left of the composition, on the right men are taking a bath in a river. At the bottom on a cartouche: 'Julio foeniseris sitis inexhausta, natare / Tunc condiscit iners, vt algida membra toposcant / Cum pri Regis'. Nr. �28� on the bottom right

Condition: Prenten, Oude meester prenten, Allegorieen
Technique: Engraving on paper, trimmed within platemark; total: 176 x 238 mm. State I/2 before plate numbering. On the verso paper reinforced in some regions, especially along the margins
