Returned in 1593 to Amsterdam, acquired the plates of Gerard Mercator's Atlas. First editon in 1606.Jodocus Hondius’ map of Guinea is probably the most attractive map of this area. An inset with a elaborate strapwork border depicts the island of S. Thomas.Further embellished with two strapwork cartouches, a gallion and a canoe.
